On Monday 15 September, LHG launched a consultation of its members to decide which candidate to nominate in the 2025 Labour Party Deputy Party Leadership election. Candidates had to win the backing of 5% of local parties or three Labour-affiliated groups, including Socialist Societies such as Labour Housing Group, to progress to a ballot of members.
The consultation was open to all members in good standing who joined LHG at least six months ago. The consultation closed on Saturday 20th September at 5pm.
The results were as follows:
Bridget Phillipson – 54%
Lucy Powell – 42%
Abstentions – 4%
(Turnout – 49%)
Accordingly, Labour Housing Group is pleased to nominate Bridget Phillipson as the next Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
