Cllr Ross Houston
Ross has been LHG Treasurer since 2009. Ross is also an EC member of the active LHG London branch.
Ross has been a councillor in the London Borough of Barnet since 2006. He is currently Deputy Leader and Chair of the Housing and Growth Committee.
Ross works for a housing association with a strong social ethos. Ross is a board member of Camden’s Third Age Project and a school governor. Ross is currently leader of the Labour Group on the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority. He is an active housing campaigner and helped challenge the Tory housing agenda in Barnet, particularly around estate regeneration and failing to deliver affordable homes.
Ross has been a Labour Party member for over 30 years and has been both branch and CLP chair. He was Labour agent for Chipping Barnet in the 2005 General Election and 2019 Labour parliamentary candidate in Finchley and Golders Green. He is on LHG’s steering group for our Housing as a Human Right campaign.
